The concept of Artificial intelligence started in the mid-1950s by making opposition players for playing games and since then the definition of artificial intelligence has come a long way. Here we will discuss the various applications of artificial intelligence. Presently, it can be defined as “Intelligence demonstrated by the machines”, it covers everything that is related to giving the machine “intelligence”. AI essentially means that machines are making decisions on their own and creating new logic by themselves. This could mean that humans no longer have to work as the machine can work much faster and smarter but to do that we have to make machines intelligent in the first place. This is so much harder as we create new logics using our brain which is natural and comprised of trillions of neurons that help us to make new decisions based on past experiences making the processes of mimicking the human brain an incredibly difficult task but this technology is becoming the need of the hour as the precision and accuracy given by the machine is much higher than that of humans which is essential in fields like medical, automobile, etc.
To achieve this, we configure very small logics called neurons to work as a group, and the machine stores the outputs from the group of neurons as feedback so that when the user gives the result, it could verify the accuracy by comparing the results to the ones that machine produce itself. And then it starts using the neurons which are giving the correct results more and more to increase the accuracy of the results. This feedback learning mechanism is inspired by the human brain that is why this type of network of logic is called a neural network. The concept of the neural network is part of machine learning which is a sub-field of artificial intelligence that deals with methods and algorithms to make the machine “intelligent”. Some of those algorithms are Decision trees, Naive Bayes Classification, Ordinary least squares regression, Logistic regression, etc. All these algorithms make the machine recognize the patterns and learn from their experiences.
Artificial intelligence is also the superset of deep learning which is the most sophisticated level of machine learning having complex algorithms to mimic the human brain. We are using deep learning to make the machine code the software without the help of humans.
The applications of artificial intelligence are growing day-by-day from discovering the cure for cancer diseases to find the best route from source to destination in maps from the precise cutting of metals in the automobile industry to a virtual assistant like Google assistant all is based on artificial intelligence.
The biggest concern of this technology is that it will get too good and make humans obsolete and the idea we get from the films and theories is that the “Intelligent Machines” will destroy humans if they find them useless. This idea of annihilation is too threatening for mankind for them to take it easy. That is why many philanthropists and leaders in the tech industry have stopped developing artificial intelligence because of the fear of machines getting more intelligent the humans but companies like Google, IBM, etc believe that this technology is the key to the development of the human race and they are diverting considerable resources to fully develop this technology. Now, time will tell whether this technology will cure cancer and vastly improve human life or destroy the human race.
